Drum sealant, also named as drum compound, is used to seal the seam channels of triple or double seams of close-top steel drum or pails. Such hermetic compounds can also be used to form a seal with crimped open-head or locking ring.
With the application of drum sealant, it can easily prevent leakage or seepage of drum pack, offer robustness and abuse resistance during drum transportation, keeps micro-organisms and contaminations away. It is necessary to apply proper type, amount and location to reach maximum sealing efficiency.
The drum sealant is latex dispersions in liquid form, formulated to have a good chemical resistance to many aggresive drums.
The compounds retain their elastic and rubber characteristics but are not brittle after dried.
This drum compound is heat-resistant and will keep its form though the drum will go through painting or lacquering temperature.
